Stammtisch 'Scandinavia'

  • Sourcebook 155 Reichenberger Straße Berlin, Berlin, 10999 Germany (map)

Hej! What's up in the north?
🇩🇰 🇫🇴 🇫🇮 🇦🇽 🇮🇸 🇳🇴 🇸🇪
This time at the Textilstammtisch we're presenting a few very interesting textile initiatives from our northern neighbors in the Scandinavian countries and also discussing issues such as local production, public funding, scandinavian design and sustainable mindsets.

Kirsti Reitan Andersen
After a master in cultural studies, PhD research for Mistra Future Fashion and Textile Toolbox, Kirsti currently works at CBS where she does research on local production and for Manufacture Copenhagen – a bold attempt at creating a vertical production unit in Denmark. Having explored challenges and opportunities to organisational change towards practicing sustainability in the textile and fashion industry, she has made it her mission to re-think the industry’s value chain in a local and networked context.

Runa Juhanisdotter
Apart from being the founder and project coordinator for ReFashionReFood – a platform and festival for sustainable learning and exchange – Runa also operates Bybaba, a sub-couture laboratory for investigating design and home of an experimental fiber circus for upcycled fashion and fashion activism. She is also active in Greenpeace and Aktionsgruppe Berlin Clean Clothes Campaign. Runa is trained in Textile Design, Method Acting, Political Science and International Marketing/Financing and is based in Berlin, Germany and the textile city Borås, Sweden.
